Northfields Avenue student housing on exhibitionProposed plans for a high-rise student accommodation development of 215 units with 261 beds on Northfields Avenue are on exhibition through Wollongong City Council’s website. The building is to be known as Building 120 and will replace several existing university buildings.Building 120 will consist of 113 single studios, 57 double studios, 30 two-bed units, eight three-bed units, six single visitors’ units and an on-site manager’s residence as well as ground level communal facilities including kitchen, dining, lounge and study rooms. The development was proposed by Hutchinson Builders in partnership with other private sector investors and the University of Wollongong. It will cover 7,720 square metres in gross floor area and include ground level car parking with 42 spaces.The plans will remain on exhibition until 7 January 2015 and then the proposal will be referred to the Joint Regional Planning Panel.
