Update on the Northern Australia Investment Forum, 8-10 November in Darwin

The Northern Australia Investment Forum is Federal Trade & Investment Minister Andrew Robb’s initiative, flowing from the Northern Australia Development White Paper.  Having the event take place here in Darwin, at our Convention Centre, is a real advantage for the NT and a unique opportunity for us to profile our investment proposition to a high level international corporate audience.

Minister Robb as host of the event he wants to confirm a select group (60 – 100) of top global investors that fit the five White Paper sectors of Food and Agriculture, Resources and Energy, Tourism Infrastructure, Major Infrastructure and Tropical Medicine.  The Forum will also include government, industry NGO and media representation at the federal and Northern Australian state/territory levels to make for a total event size of around 2 – 300 delegates.

The plan is to have around 30 investor-ready major projects to promote to the international corporates.  We’re at about 25 across the three jurisdictions and there is a strong level of NT major project proponent involvement in the Forum (more than QLD and WA which is great).

Our investment projects will be presented at the conference sessions of the Forum and/or in the ‘Marketplace of Opportunities’ – a dedicated space in the Forum where investors can speak with private proponents during the conference and breaks.

Listed below are the projects to date:
