New vision for Glenfield to Macarthur corridorA strategy for the seven station precincts from Glenfield to Macarthur has been released with feedback being sought on how to revitalise the areas.The aim of the Glenfield to Macarthur draft corridor strategy is to:improve parks and open spaceprovide greater housing choiceconsider how to add to the vibrant street scape of restaurants, shops and parks that locals already enjoylook at ways to enhance walking and cycling trackshelp create more local jobs for the community.With one in every five additional Sydneysiders expected to live in the south west by 2036, planning is important. The roadmap for revitalisation has been based on a survey of the community and will facilitate more than 20,000 additional jobs and 15,000 new homes by 2036.The stations included in the strategy include:GlenfieldMacquarie FieldsIngleburnMintoLeumeahCampbelltownMacarthurThe Property Council supports urban renewal to sensibly bring together jobs, housing and transport. The supply of housing will need to be turbocharged otherwise Sydney will face a housing shortage of over 190,000 by 2024.The NSW Government is seeking community input on the planning process for the Glenfield to Macarthur corridor.
