The State Government has released new rules for lobbyists in Queensland.
Now anyone working for a lobbying firm will need to be registered as a lobbyist. This requirement has been expanded to include:
- Lobbyists,
- Consultants,
- Advisers, and
- Strategic Communications and marketing advisers.
These new rules exclude administrative staff. Lobbyists are also only able to make contact through the Chief of Staff (COS) of an office, and all meetings have to be requested in writing.
