New Red Tape Commissioner for Victoria

The Property Council welcomes the appointment of Dr Matthew Butlin to the role of Red Tape Commissioner. As the previous Chair of Victorian Competition and Efficiency Commission, Dr Butlin is well qualified with previous experience in cutting red tape in both environment and local council regulation.

According to the State Government, his key objectives will be fulfilling the Government’s election promise of reducing red tape by 25 per cent and he has expressed an interest in hearing from the business community.
