New plans for Parramatta RoadThe community is being asked to provide input on proposed plans to reinvent Parramatta Road. Plans are set out in the draft Parramatta Road Urban Renewal Strategy. The draft strategy is a result of feedback provided in interactive workshops with councils, members of the community and technical specialists, major studies of the corridor, briefings to local MPs and more than 1 meetings with councils and other stakeholders. The 20-year urban transformation of Parramatta Road is expected to create up to ,000 jobs and ,000 new homes. It will better connect the 10 local councils along the length of the corridor (Auburn, Ashfield, Burwood, City of Canada Bay, City of Sydney, Holroyd City, Leichhardt, Marrickville, Parramatta City and Strathfield). The Property Council supports the plans to improve the supply of homes near jobs and improve public transport and other infrastructure. For more information and to view the draft Parramatta Road Urban Renewal Strategy click here.
