New Neighbourhood Plans progressed

Brisbane City Council has made progress in the delivery of two of their recently exhibited neighbourhood plans. Both the Spring Hill Neighbourhood Plan and Ferny Grove-Upper Kedron Neighbourhood Plan have now been endorsed by Council and submitted to the Queensland Government for review.

Earlier this year the Property Council provided submissions to both draft plans.

In responding to the draft Ferny Grove-Upper Kedron Neighbourhood Plan, the Property Council raised concerns regarding the functionality of the transport network, the ability to provide increased densities, and unnecessary politicisation of greenfield development within the plan area.

After the Spring Hill Neighbourhood Plan was reopened for consultation earlier this year, following the State Government’s interest review, the Property Council criticised proposed new tower site cover requirements which will lead to poor design outcomes.
Council’s consultation reports can be found on the neighbourhood plan websites.

Final adoption and gazettal of the plans are expected later this year.
