New leadership for Residential Development Council
Stockland Group Executive and CEO Residential, Andrew Whitson, has been appointed as the new Chair of the Property Council’s Residential Development Council.
The Residential Development Council is the sector’s leadership group and helps shape policy and advocacy priorities for the industry.
Mr Whitson leads Stockland’s national residential business, which is the largest in the country.
Mr Whitson’s appointment to the position follows a six-year term as Chair by Nigel Satterley AM, Chief Executive of the Satterley Property Group.
“The time is ripe for meaningful reforms that can unlock housing supply, reduce the cost of new housing and boost housing affordability across the country” said Mr Whitson.
“The industry’s leaders are keen to partner with policymakers across the political aisle on clear and practical policy solutions that can tilt the balance of affordability in favour of homebuyers.
“As our cities grow, we have the obligation to build a diverse range of new housing for our growing population, and create liveable and connected communities that are great places to live, work and play.”
On behalf of the members of the Residential Development Council, the Property Council would like to extend a vote of thanks to Mr Nigel Satterley AM for his six-year term as Residential Development Council’s chair.
During his term, Nigel made an extraordinary contribution through his market knowledge, leadership and engagement with political leaders at a time when housing affordability become a hot topic for politicians and the public.
The Property Council is grateful for his efforts and his commitment to remain active with the leadership group comprising the Residential Development Council.
