nbn Roadshow and Industry Technical Working Group update
The RDC is currently undertaking a national roadshow to update members on the nbn New Developments Policy and the impact it will have on their projects.
Sponsored by nbn, the roadshows are meeting residential developers, Property Council members and industry representatives to collect detail on any issues relating to nbn‘s new Telecommunications Infrastructure in New Developments Policy.
The outcomes of the roadshows, particularly and issues that are holding up development or costing industry significantly, will be reported back to RDC and to Minister Turnbull directly to ensure industry and consumers do not face additional costs from the rollout of this critical infrastructure.
The roadshows follow the work of the Greenfields Committee and the Technical Working Group, the latter of which met for the third time recently in Melbourne. The Technical Working Group is undertaking some good work to ensure that specifications efficiencies can be implemented to make the provision of broadband infrastructure, easier, faster and less costly for industry.
The final roadshows will take place in Darwin on Tuesday 1 September, and Canberra on 3 September. If you would like to register to attend, please contact Katharina Surikow, Policy Manager, Residential Development Council.
