Natural Resources and Other Legislation Amendment Bill
The Natural Resources and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2019 has been passed by the Queensland Parliament.
The Bill contains a number of amendments that impact the property industry:
– Land titling amendments, including the broadening of high-density development easements
– Land Valuation Act and Valuers Registration Act amendments, including the clarification of what constitutes a “bone fide sale” under the Act
– Amendments to the South-East Queensland Water (Distribution and Retail Restructuring) Act 2009 to validate infrastructure charges notices issued by Distributor-retailers
– Removal of the Foreign Ownership of Land Register
During the second reading, amendments were passed to the Vegetation Management Act 1999 and the Planning Act 2016, to clarify the long-standing policy intent that the definition of infrastructure includes buildings and other structures built or used for any purpose.
