Mott MacDonald appoints Adrian Garnero as technical director, Australia

Mott MacDonald has appointed Adrian Garnero as a technical director in its advisory business in Australia. He will further develop the consultancy’s capabilities and services in this area to new and existing clients.

Adrian has nearly 25 years’ experience in the planning, development and delivery of complex infrastructure projects, with the last nine years spent working in the transport sector. He joins Mott MacDonald from Transport for New South Wales, where he was program director for their multibillion dollar Transport Access Program which focuses on upgrading railway stations and ferry wharves, building new car parks and improving the safety and security of transport assets. Adrian was responsible for securing funds, developing business cases and concept designs and the overall management of the initiative.  

Prior to this role, Adrian was general manager for network development at Rail Corporation New South Wales. During this time, he was responsible for managing a team of transport planners and project managers that developed designs for new stations and rail lines, station and lift upgrades and stabling yards. This team also devised short and long-term rail plans that identified where expected growth was to occur, identified areas of congestion and where new or existing rolling stock would be required to be located for the efficient running of the rail network.
