MORETON BAY REGIONAL COUNCIL: COUNCILLOR ROLES IN DEVELOPMENT POLICY

The policy determines when and in what capacity Councillor’s can interact with the development industry at each stage of the Development Application process.

Since the implementation of the State Government’s Belcarra legislation local governments have been adopting different approaches when meeting with the development industry, and in some instances refusing to meet with industry participants.  

The Property Council has been working with the Office of Independent Assessor to clarify the framework for developers meeting with local government officials with the intention of this guideline being applicable across all local government areas.
