Mooloolaba Masterplan amendments

The Property Council has lodged a submission on the Sunshine Coast Council’s proposed planning scheme amendments, relating to the Mooloolaba Masterplan.

The submission reinforces the need for the planning scheme to provide flexibility to create feasible development outcomes to enable the industry to provide housing to meet the expected population increase on the Sunshine Coast.

The amendment package includes incentives for a five-star international standard hotel to be developed in Mooloolaba.  It is well documented that there has not been significant investment in the tourism offering on the Sunshine Coast for many years, and these incentives are a welcome addition to encourage investment.
