Meriton partners with Livable Housing AustraliaApartment developer Meriton has announced it will commit to meeting best practice benchmarks for livable design by joining in a partnership with Livable Housing Australia (LHA).Meriton says it supports LHA’s commitment to universal standards of safety, comfort and design excellence. It says the partnership with LHA is a natural evolution for Meriton and that the LHA logo is a stamp of quality assurance that people can trust.Meriton joins a growing list of companies that have partnered with LHA, among them the Property Council of Australia, the Australian Institute of Architects, Lend Lease, Master Builders Australia and Stockland. The LHA says Meriton’s commitment is another step on the road towards industry adoption of the Livable Housing Design Guidelines. It says that companies in the property and construction industry are embracing the guidelines because they realise design features that meet the guidelines make homes easier to live in and facilitate the sale of those homes.Property Council of Australia chief executive Ken Morrison congratulated Meriton on its leadership and indicated that the developer has sent a signal to the rest of the industry. “The industry’s leaders understand that a livable home is simply good design that meets the needs of all Australians,” he said.
