Meet the Leaders series concludes

The Queensland Future Directions’ ‘Meet the Leaders’ series has drawn to a close with the two final breakfast events, of the six breakfast series, held over the last fortnight. The event series provides the opportunity for the next generation of industry leaders to benefit from the insights and experiences of current leaders.

In previous weeks attendees have heard from Pointcorp co-owners Paul Gedoun and Chris Vitale, QIC Global Real Estate’s Steve Leigh, Consolidated Properties’ Don O’Rorke and MacDonnells Law Partner Moya Steele.

Over the last fortnight ‘Meet the Leaders’ breakfasts have been held with:

Renaye Peters, Director – Conrad Gargett:

With a wide and varied career experience, Renaye was able to provide attendees with some fascinating insights into many facets of the property industry.  Attendees were particularly taken with Renaye’s unique perspectives from her involvement with the construction of the Australian Parliament House and developing and managing Brisbane Airport’s property portfolio. Renaye’s extensive involvement in Government boards, industry body committees and other non-work commitments helped provide some valuable lessons to the attendees on the importance of stepping outside of the comfort zone. Attendees were inspired by Renaye’s career journey and her commitment to encourage gender diversity in the property industry.

Richard Garing, Regional General Manager, Office & Industrial – DEXUS Property Group:

Richard hosted attendees at the exciting new ‘Dexus Place’ facility at Waterfront Place, and provided a unique perspective on the Brisbane office market and how to build a successful career in the property industry. Richard outlined that in order to get to where you want to be in your career it is often better to take a sideways move to ensure you are positioned to pursue your passions. Attendees were also provided with some key tips from Richard to achieving an appropriate work – life balance.

The Property Council would like to thank the participating leaders and principal sponsor of the Future Directions event series, Savills Project Management, for their generous support.
