Meet Studio Nine’s newest associate – Kirstie Coultas

Celebrations have begun early this year as we welcome Kirstie Coultas to our leadership team, in the much deserved role of Associate Architect. Joining Studio Nine in March, it was immediately evident that Kirstie is a natural leader, bringing a wealth of technical and construction knowledge to our growing firm.

“I see this as an opportunity to help lead a team that I believe in,” says Kirstie. “We have amazing people here and I feel that in this role I have as much to gain as I have to offer.”

With a love of building things and appreciation for great design from a young age, Kirstie always knew she was an Architect at heart. “There was never an alternative to contemplate,” she reminisces. That drive and decisiveness has never wavered and now, with 11 years of experience across well-known SA firms under her belt, she has been recognised for her contributions to private, large government and commercial projects.

A passionate and active member of the architectural and construction community, Kirstie is currently seated on the SA Council for the National Association for Women in Construction (NAWIC) and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee at the Property Council of Australia. She continuously involves herself in extra-curricular events that promote the growth and development of the architectural profession.

Outside of work, Kirstie and her husband are kept busy with their 4 year old son, a favourite around the office for his energy, confidence and big hugs!  “Kyle has taught me more about myself that I thought possible. I have never felt more determined or empowered to achieve my career goals.”

With her methodical approach and positive attitude, Kirstie has the ability to navigate challenging projects and inspire the best from her fellow designers. As she champions the delivery of the exciting, multi-million dollar Lightsview Indoor Recreational Sports Complex, and leads the latest STEM School projects, Kirstie continues to have a strong impact on the South Australian architectural landscape, promoting great design and awareness of the many talents we have in our great state!
