Mauro Farinola joins AECOM from RMIT

Mauro Farinola joins AECOM from RMITMr Farinola recently joined AECOM’s South Australia office as a Technical Director in their Buildings + Places group.Before joining the premier integrated infrastructure firm, he was deputy director, planning asset utilisation at RMIT. Based in Melbourne, Mr Farinola was responsible for master planning and strategic space management of the University’s global build environment. In his early career he was SA Water’s Deputy Project Director, jointly leading and delivering the $1.824 billion Adelaide Desalination Project. “AECOM is a truly global brand with a sizeable local footprint” said Mr Farinola. “It provides the ideal opportunity for me to lead a large team and continue to take on large, complex projects that help to build a better South Australia.” Mr Farinola has held senior positions within national and international consulting engineering practices, having led teams and undertaken design and construction activities on award winning projects in Australia and overseas. A former graduate of the University of South Australia, Mr Farinola is returning home after more than a decade living and working interstate. With a diverse career spanning nearly 30 years, he has worked in property, engineering, infrastructure and banking at ANZ’s Melbourne headquarters.
