Mantra Group lists on the ASX

Mantra Group lists on the ASXMantra Group became the only Australian-based hotel group on the Australian Securities Exchange when it officially listed on 20 June after raising $239 million from its share offer.The company lodged a prospectus with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) in May for an initial public offering of almost 133 million shares in the company, at $1.80 per share. With the sale of 53 per cent of its shares to the public, Mantra Group’s value stands at $449 million.The move is Mantra Group’s second attempt to float on the ASX. Owners CVC Capital and UBS cancelled plans for a float in March, attributing the decision to a cooling in market sentiment.Mantra Group marked the event with an official listing ceremony at the ASX in Sydney, with a welcome by ASX CFO Ramy Aziz and a ringing of the bell by Mantra Group CEO Bob East to signal trading.Mantra Group owns and operates 113 properties under three brands: Peppers, Mantra and BreakFree.
