Mackay Region Planning Scheme adopted

The Mackay Region Planning Scheme will commence on 24 July, 2017, following approval from the State Government and adoption by Mackay Regional Council.

The new planning scheme will merge the current Mackay City Planning Scheme, Mirani Shire Plan and Sarina Planning Scheme into a unified scheme, aligned with the new Planning Act.

With a planning horizon to 2036, the new scheme aims to streamline existing planning provisions and reduce assessment requirements.

Further information on the Mackay Region Planning Scheme is available from the Council’s website.
