Logan City Council has proposed four major amendments to the Logan Planning Scheme 2015.
The four amendments are:
Housing and Lot Diversity Amendment
Seeks to establish new minimum lot sizes. The Property Council provided a submission to Logan City Council in early 2021 on proposed changes to minimum lot sizes, raising concern with the proposed increase of minimum lot size and frontages.
Health Care Service Amendment
To introduce a new development code to regulate Health care services, providing particular guidance on location, design and amenity. The proposed code also includes focussed provisions that seek to regulate pharmacotherapy clinics with respect to location, separation distances, indoor waiting area size and mechanical surveillance.
Major Planning Scheme Amendment 2021
Covers a range of changes, including in the design and location of childcare centres, how waste is stored and collected, management of the impacts of construction (erosion, sediment) and the social and health impacts of alcohol and gaming machines.
Mixed Use Zone Amendment
Seeks to provide greater certainty about employment land (in mixed use and industrial zones) in Logan to support jobs and opportunities for business. In particular, the amendment:
• introduces four precincts within the Mixed use zone;
• identifies preferred land uses for each new precinct; and
• optimises the zoning of industrial land.
The public consultation period for the proposed amendments will close on March 4 2022.
The Property Council will be liaising with members to provide feedback on the amendments. If you are interested in providing comment, please email [email protected] .
