Logan: Opportunities for investment in medical facilities
Logan City Council have completed a business case to identify opportunities for investment in medical and health facilities in the city.
The opportunities identified include:
- Specialist medical suites
- Specialist outpatient care
- Integrated care centres with co-located general practice specialist care, imaging, allied health and related, services with or without an after-hours urgent care service
- Stand-alone medical imaging and radiology centres
- Private Hospital to 1 Beds
- Day Hospital up to 35 beds
Additionally, the City of Logan has some major Private Health and Medical Facilities that are currently being developed in specific health hubs throughout the city. These developments present an opportunity for specialists to establish medical suites, outpatient care services, integrated care centres, imaging, allied health, care service, stand-alone medical imaging and radiology centres and day surgeries to be established within Logan.
Key suburbs for existing and upcoming Health and Medical hubs are based:
- Meadowbrook – this is the primary health hub with Logan Hospital, UQ Health, Griffith Uni and new private health developments.
- Springwood – is located on the M1, provides access to Brisbane and Gold Coast for specialist medical suites, day surgeries and other health services.
- Logan Central – has existing Metro South Mental Health facility and offers an opportunity for primary health services and integrated care centres.
- Loganholme – has current day surgery, specialists and primary healthcare services.
- Beenleigh – possibility to provide essential health services around NDIS/SDA, specialists, primary healthcare services and integrated care centres.
- Park Ridge – due to the increase in residential development and population, there is an opportunity for additional health services.
