Local Government Act Review 

Consultation is currently underway as part of a wide ranging review of the Local Government Act 1989.

Government has released a directions paper, which puts forward over 157 proposals for reforming the role and functions of local governments in Victoria.

The Property Council has provided input to the first stage of the review and will be making a formal submission in response to the options paper, particularly around proposals pertaining to council franchise and methods for property valuations.
