Limitless potential: the challenge of growing Melbourne

On Thursday 16 April the Property Council hosted a panel of industry experts to discuss the challenge of growing Melbourne, as the focus of a planning briefing sponsored by Charter Keck Cramer.

The panel discussed topics raised in the Grattan Institute’s book, City Limits: Why Australia’s Cities Are Broken and How We Can Fix Them, including population growth, housing supply in middle ring suburbs, zone reform, Plan Melbourne and Growth Area Infrastructure Contributions. Grattan Institute’s Cities Fellow, Paul Donegan, presented the book’s arguments which were teased out in a Victorian context. The panel, moderated by Christian Grahame (Mirvac) boasted a breadth of expertise and consisted of Rob McGauran (MGS Architects), Paul Donegan (Grattan Institute), Penny Forrest (Peet), Paul Bryne (MPA) and Bernard McNamara (BMDA Development Advisory).

A big thank you to the speakers and our sponsor, Charter Keck Cramer for supporting this event.
