The Property Council of Australia, together with national awards Principal Sponsor Rider Levett Bucknall is proud to announce Library at the Dock as the winner of the 2016 Innovation and Excellence Awards, Victorian Development of the Year.

The Property Council of Australia/ Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards is the pre-eminent property industry program in Australia. The annual awards program recognises excellence in the built environment and heralds the achievements of the sector’s finest professionals and companies.

Library at the Dock was selected as the state’s best development from a very competitive field of  projects in the running for the prestigious national property awards.

Acting Victorian Executive Director of the Property Council of Australia, Asher Judah said Library at the Dock (Lendlease) demonstrates how partnerships between the private sector, state and local government can work for the Victorian community.

“As a civic hub at the heart of Victoria’s Docklands, the library and park draws together local residents and visitors by providing state of the art technology platforms and services such as a recording studio, creative editing suites, satellite television in community languages and various performance spaces.

Library at the Dock also sets a new standard for sustainable practice, being the first six star Green Star rated building and the only CLT public building in Australia.

“It is great to see the continued success of the Victorian property industry and these achievements will be further celebrated at Australia’s most prestigious property awards night next month.”

National award winners will be announced at the 2016 Property Council of Australia Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards Gala Dinner, to be held in Sydney on Friday 3 June.
