Leading Women in Property lunch
The Property Council’s Leading Women in Property Lunch on Thursday 25 May saw a bumper crowd head to Aria restaurant for a conversation with high-profile journalist and child protection advocate Kay McGrath.
A patron of Protect All Children Today (PACT), and an Ambassador for Act for Kids, Kay was recently awarded an Order of Australia medal in the 2017 Australia Day honours, for her more than 30 years of service in leading a broader conversation around child protection.
Kay spoke to lessons learnt both from her career in journalism and her service to the community through various causes. Kay outlined both the challenges that she faced through her early years in journalism, as well as the highlights of her career and the satisfaction she has gained from helping worthy causes.
Property Council Chief Operating Officer, Kathy Mac Dermott, moderated an in-depth conversation with Kay, exploring themes as diverse as the public responses to family violence to how best to support other women through their careers.
Throughout the lunch $3,1 was raised for the Property Industry Foundation and Act For Kids.
This event would not have been made possible without the generous support of sponsor Multiplex and support sponsor Architectus.
The Property Council would also like to thank Kay McGrath for sharing her insights and experiences with our guests.
