Ken Morrison appointed to GBCA board

Ken Morrison, Property Council of Australia chief executive, has been appointed to the Green Building Council of Australia’s (GBCA) board of directors.

Romilly Madew, GBCA chief executive, says Ken’s appointment will add further strength to a board that boasts many of the industry’s sustainability leaders.

“Ken is passionate about the future of our cities and has played a significant role in shaping planning and infrastructure policy to strengthen our industry for more than a decade. He is an active supporter of the green building movement, and his contribution will be a great asset to the GBCA’s Board of Directors. We can move into the next phase of the green building journey with confidence,” Madew says.

Ken says sustainability has been one of Australia’s fiercest political battlegrounds of recent years, and the work of the GBCA has never been more relevant.

“In 2001 I was seconded in to help establish the GBCA, so this appointment completes a personal and professional circle for me,” he adds.

The GBCA has also announced that Tanya Cox, independent director and GBCA board member since 2013, has been appointed Chair-Elect. Cox will replace Daniel Grollo, Grocon Executive Chairman, who steps down from the GBCA board in December 2014.

Tarun Gupta, GBCA board member since 2013, will join Siobhan Toohill as a Deputy Chair. Gupta oversees Lend Lease’s development and investment management businesses in Australia.
