Brenton was appointed Executive General Manager Corporate Affairs, General Counsel and Company Secretary of Adelaide Airport at the end of 2013.

He has previously served as a non-executive director of Sydney Airport and Hobart Airport. Brenton has spent most of his career with Macquarie Capital in London and in Sydney with MAp Airports and Sydney Airport. This includes experience in airport property transactions and management throughout Europe and Australia.

Brenton started his career as a commercial lawyer for Fisher Jeffries in Adelaide and has a Masters of Law from Cambridge University in the UK, a First Class Honours Degree in Law from Adelaide University as well as a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and a Bachelor of Finance from Adelaide University 

 Brenton is admitted to practise as a solicitor and barrister of the Supreme Court of South Australia and the High Court of Australia
