Interior Design Trends in Offices

Interior architecture trends for office spaces are continually evolving with the aim of increasing productivity, improving health benefits, and bolstering creativity and productivity among staff members.

Fratelle Group Associate, Luis Schilling, says that office spaces are now employing a mix of workspaces to ensure that the needs of the business and its workers are being met. “The open plan office was a trend for a long time and it had its merits; however, we are now seeing a move towards a mixed space where there are dedicated meeting rooms, sound-proof pods, open areas for creative discussions and brainstorming, and standing work areas to alleviate recent health concerns arising from sitting all day.”

“One trend we have seen come full circle is the idea of ‘hot-desking’ whereby work spaces were kept clear and un-personalised.

“We are now moving away from this because, as human beings, we instinctively want to connect to and personalise a space where we spend a lot of time,” says Schilling.

“Multi-media rooms are also being designed in modern offices to align with the digital era; used for Skype meetings for example to accommodate global markets and flexible work arrangements.”
