Infrastructure Contributions Bill

The Property Council supports the proposed Planning and Environment Amendment (Infrastructure Contributions) Bill 2015 in its current form. The newly proposed legislation is similar in its objectives to the former Government’s model, with only two minor changes. These are:

• Changes to the date of inception; and
• No changes to the name of the MPA/GAA.

Going forward, the Property Council’s advocacy efforts will be directed at getting implementation right. As the legislation contains high level wording and grants the Minister a great deal of discretion, there are still many areas which need fleshing out.

Consequently, we are encouraging the Government to clarify whether the policy settings will deviate from those announced under the previous Government.
