Infrastructure Charges discount for Gold Coast parking stations
A new version of the City of Gold Coast Charges Resolution has taken effect from 1 July.
Under the new arrangements parking stations approved from 1 July 2016, will only be liable for infrastructure changes on any new impervious areas. For these purposes “parking station” is defined as premises used for parking vehicles where the parking is not ancillary to another use.
The revised charges resolution also removes the requirement for only family or carers to reside in a secondary dwelling to be eligible to apply for the ‘secondary dwelling or family accommodation’ exemption from infrastructure charges.
These changes are due to be reviewed after a year of effect. For more information on the revised Charges Resolution, click here.
Following the recent announcement made by Deputy Premier, Hon Jackie Trad MP, to bring forward the indexation of local government infrastructure charges, the City of Gold Coast will have the ability to introduce a special resolution to increase infrastructure charges this financial year.
