Industry supports a city deal for Darwin

 

The Property Council of Australia (NT) strongly supports the Darwin City Deal initiative. We have been a key stakeholder throughout the Darwin City Deal consultation process and looks forward to playing an active role in implementation of a Darwin City Deal. 

The Property Council’s top priority initiatives from the report are as follows: 

1. Establishment of a University Campus in the Darwin CBD and other Specialist Institutes

2. Investment in Tourism Infrastructure 

3. Cooling the City Initiatives

4. Review of Urban Design Guidelines

5. A Car Parking Strategy Review

We did have concerns with the following initiatives detailed in the report: 

1. Establishment of a Design Review Panel

2. The ‘Gigabit’ City
