Industry Responds to Logan Planning Scheme Amendments

The Property Council has provided a submission to Logan City Council on proposed amendments to the Logan Planning Scheme 2015 relating to auxiliary units and development in the Logan Reserve area.

Following feedback provided by the Property Council earlier this year, the minimum lot size for Auxiliary Units reduced from 700m2 to 4m2 in the proposed amendment package. The minimum frontage requirement has also reduced from 18m to 15m. However, the Property Council has objected to the proposal for a minimum of five on-site car parking spaces.

The Property Council also outlined concerns that the proposed amendments for Logan Reserve will not meet the stated densities proposed in the amendments, and therefore the area will not achieve the intended outcomes set out in the ShapingSEQ Regional Plan. Further consideration of the proposed dwelling density calculations has been recommended.

Adoption of the amendments is expected in early 2019.
