The Retirement Living Council is looking forward to working with the Albanese Government. Over federal Labor’s time in opposition there has been positive and active engagement from the Property Council of Australia as a whole – giving us an excellent platform to continue advocating for age-friendly communities in Australia.

Some of the new appointments that will impact the retirement living space are:

Mark Butler – Health and Aged Care

Butler takes over this portfolio from Greg Hunt. He was first elected to the seat of Port Adelaide, South Australia in 2007 but is now the member for Hindmarsh, South Australia after an electoral reshuffle in 2019.

Amanda Rishworth – Social Services

Rishworth takes over the portfolio from Anne Ruston. Rishworth was first elected to the seat of Kingston, South Australia in 2007.

Julie Collins – Housing, Homelessness and Small Business

Collins has taken over the housing portfolio from Michael Sukkar and the small business portfolio from Stuart Robert. She was first elected to the seat of Franklin, Tasmania in 2007.

There are previously held portfolios that have yet to be announced – there should be further updates on this matter in future.
