Illawarra Escarpment Strategy and Mt Keira Summit Park
Illawarra Escarpment Mountain Bike Draft Strategy
A draft Illawarra Escarpment Mountain Bike Strategy prepared by Office Environment and Heritage (OEH) and Wollongong City Council is currently on exhibition and open for consultation until 10 December 2018.
The strategy is a Government response to the needs for better management of mountain bike use of the escarpment, which occurs both legally and illegally. The document proposes a sustainable network of mountain bike trails on the Illawarra Escarpment which allow separation of mountain bike riders from bushwalkers.
At the end of the public exhibition period, public feedback will be comprehensively reviewed and will inform a final strategy which will then be adopted by OEH and Council. To make a submission, please email [email protected] or online here.
Mt Keira Summit Park – Draft Plan of Management
Wollongong City Council is inviting the Community to have their say on the draft Plan of Management for Mt Keira Summit Park.
The final plan will guide the revitalisation and sustainable management of the Park to ensure that it showcases its scenic, natural and cultural values.
In 2016, Council asked for feedback into the development of a Vision for the protection, use and sustainable management of Mt Keira Summit Park. This vision, along with a set of Planning Principles have been used in the development of the Plan of Management.
Submissions can be made until 10 December by email [email protected] or online here.
