Housing Trust calls for development partner
The Housing Trust has released a Call for Proposals to secure a development partner to provide retail and social housing on their 1.97 hectare site at Dapto, located south of Wollongong.
Established in 1983, the Housing Trust is using the development proposal as an ambition towards their mission, to prevent homelessness through community housing solutions. The Trust owns and or manages over 900 properties and has net assets in excess of $48 million.
The Housing Trust acquired the former Dapto Public School site in Byamee Street to undertake a residential development.
The 1.97 hectare site is on the corner of Byamee Street and Moombara Street in the Dapto town centre; situated between the Dapto Mall shopping centre and the Dapto Showground.
It is well serviced by transport and social infrastructure and is an excellent site for medium density residential development.
The Housing Trust seeks a development partner to enter into a Project Development Agreement to develop the site with the most appropriate residential development type, of which the Trust will have the option to retain up to 30% of the total development units as social housing.
