Health + Property Breakfast

Minister for Health and Ambulance Services, the Hon Cameron Dick MP, addressed property industry professionals on the challenges facing the state’s health services at the Property Council’s Health+Property Breakfast on 31 October.

The Health Minister began by corresponding the Government’s record to the Property Council’s Actions to Unlock Economic Activity, Create Jobs and Build Confidence election priorities agenda. While avoiding specifics, the Minister spoke favourably of the Government’s economic and investment record.

Complex challenges for health service delivery stemming from Queensland decentralised nature, and growing and aging population, were outlined by the Minister. Opportunities for the property industry to partner with the Government to find solutions to these challenges were also canvassed, with a focus on telehealth and other technological innovations.

The Minister outlined commitments to frontline services and new investment projects, and provided an update on the investment management framework that was instigated to get greater value out of finite Government resources. Insights were provided into how the Queensland Health Department plans and finances new infrastructure investments.

The Property Council thanks Minister Cameron Dick for sharing his insights with guests, and particularly for upholding his commitment to address the industry despite the State Election being called two days earlier. The Property Council would also like to thank Ethos Urban for their sponsorship of the Health + Property breakfast.
