Head Contractor Exemption

The Property Council received notification on Friday 9 July that the Department of Energy and Public Works has approved postponing the repeal of head contractor licensing exemption until July 2022.

We have been strongly advocating on behalf of our members for the Minister to grant this approval to give industry certainty for another twelve months. The Property Council will continue to advocate the Minister for wider consultation regarding the removal of this exemption, as it risks a negative impact on the building and construction industry, especially during this period of economic recovery.
