Campaign to fight strata back-flip
The Property Council has commenced a campaign to get strata reform back on the State Government’s priority list for 2016.
The industry was stunned earlier this month when the Minister for Lands, Terry Redman said in the media that it was unlikely that strata reform legislation will reach state Parliament this year. Key reforms like introducing community titles, easier pathways for staged strata development and modernising strata management regulations are now at risk due to the stalled process. This is the second time in the last five years that the strata reform process has been stalled and it is almost 20 years since strata laws have been reviewed in WA.
Members will soon receive more details about participating in the campaign.
