Government floats changes to Seller Disclosure
Final recommendations from the QUT Property Law Review in relation to seller disclosure have been released by the Queensland Government for public consultation. This consultation period will inform the Government’s decision on which recommendations to implement.
The 19 proposals developed by QUT include the introduction of a unified statutory seller disclosure regime for sales of freehold land in Queensland.
The Property Council’s previous response to this process encourages a greater focus on buyer due diligence and a reduction in the disclosure requirements placed on a seller.
Written submissions in response to the proposals are welcome by 10 November 2017.
