Getting to know our new MinisterWith the Baird Government’s re-election, we’ve seen a significant reshuffle of portfolios, including introducing a new portfolio of Innovation and Better Regulation, a portfolio which includes the responsibilities for Fair Trading. Victor Dominello has been appointed as the Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation. He was first appointed to Cabinet in 2011 and prior to entering Parliament in 2008 was a partner of Etheringtons Solicitors. The Property Council recently met with Minister Dominello to introduce him to the retirement village industry. We will also be meeting with the Fair Trading Commissioner Rod Stowe this month to discuss regulatory issues and the pathway for the Retirement Villages Regulations review. John Ajaka has retained the portfolio of Ageing.
