Future Proofing Joondalup

This week the City of Joondalup hosted the Joondalup City Centre – Striking a Balance Business Forum.

According to research unveiled at the event, Joondalup City Centre offers the widest diversity of property uses across metropolitan Perth.

The report released by Y Research, examines property diversity in suburban Western Australian Activity Centres and the impact of Government office decentralisation.

The Government’s office decentralisation strategy in Joondalup is centered around the development of Prime House. The eight-story building is expected to create 340 jobs and have ongoing economic benefits following the relocation of 800 public servants.

The Primewest development has received a 5-star Green Star sustainability rating and has been designed to be flexible to embrace future technologies and life style changes.

For example, the multi-story carpark has been designed to be easily converted back to office space, should it be required.

As we move towards an era of driverless cars and sharing economies, the need for parking may decline and so Primewest designed the second level car parking deck 1 metre higher (i.e. 4m slab to slab) than the first level. This will enable Primewest to easily convert another 1,700m2 floor to office to accommodate them within the same building.
