Future Directions Site Tour: The Calile Hotel

The latest Future Directions’ event allowed attendees to undertake an exclusive walkthrough of The Calile Hotel in Fortitude Valley, on Thursday 27 September.

The seven storey, 178-room, luxury hotel features a modern and innovative design that draws off Queensland’s sub-tropical climate. The structure comprises 270,000 white bricks, carefully positioned into ‘breeze blocks’ to allow for natural ventilation, while the spacious outdoor areas also add to the tropical resort atmosphere.

Jeremy Nordkamp, General Manager of The Calile, Ingrid Richards and Adrian Spence, owners and Architects of Richards and Spence, provided a fantastic panel discussion overviewing the project and speaking to its unique design qualities, while praising Hutchinson Builders for their outstanding contribution to the development.

Following formalities, event attendees were encouraged to network in a true Future Directions style.

The Future Directions Committee is a Property Council initiative dedicated to fostering aspiring future leaders of the property industry. The committee aims to provide pathways and professional networking opportunities for property industry employees who are under 35, through events, research and professional development opportunities.
