Future Directions Mentoring Programme Creates ResultsThe Property Council’s 2016 mentoring programme has created its first result with Curtin University student Siobhan Lyneham securing a position with Lendlease at their Armadale Centre.Studying Commerce and majoring in Property Development and Valuation, Siobhan was paired with Samantha Reece Director of PropertyESP.Samantha assisted Siobhan with crafting her CV and covering letter, organising mock interviews with recruitment firms, inviting her to networking events and securing her appointments with key agencies, as well as being a referee. But despite this assistance, Samantha stated that it was Siobhan’s work ethic, willingness to learn and passion for the property industry that secured her the new position.”Siobhan had come from a farming background and so understands that you have to pull together as a team,” Ms Reece said.Siobhan stated that she had been grateful to the WA Future Leader Mentoring Program for connecting her with Samantha unlocking industry knowledge and contacts.”The mentoring program also helped me to get out of my comfort zone as I was able to attend different events and meet new people and this has given me a greater degree of confidence,” Siobhan said. The Property Council wishes Siobhan all the best with her future endeavours.
