Future Directions: Conversation with Mark Bouris

The final Future Directions event of 2017 saw a sell-out crowd gather at The Bromley Room at West Village to hear from property industry legend, Mark Bouris.

Mark spoke to the lessons learned from his career as an entrepreneur, innovator, author, academic and reality TV star. As the founder and driving force behind Wizard Home Loans and Yellow Brick Road, Mark has been amongst the most successful disruptors on the Australian business landscape.

Over the course of his address, he took the audience through the five components of his mantra of professional success; Drive, Attitude, Purpose, Ambition and Creativity. Mark’s explanation of each of these characteristics contained anecdotes from his own career challenges across his two decades at the pinnacle of Australian industry.

Following Mark’s presentation, he was joined for a question and answer session facilitated by Future Directions’ Committee Chair, Daniel O’Driscoll. Mark also took questions from the floor, where he reinforced the need to ‘back yourself’ and, the importance of choice in always ensuring you are ‘happy enough’ in your work.

The Future Directions Committee was pleased to partner with West Village to bring this event to The Bromley Room – one of Brisbane’s most exciting new spaces. The venue provided the perfect backdrop to the final event of the 2017 Future Directions series.
