FOUR KEY LESSONS TO BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Rob Quinn from Creating Leaders gave attendees four key tips to strengthen their business development skills at a Property Council event earlier this week.
The breakfast event titled ‘Business Development is Everybody’s Business’ brought together local experts in the business development field to discuss what they’ve learnt over their personal career journey’s.
Rob Quinn provided an interactive presentation, sharing his unique insights to help attendees sharpen their skills to confidently build their network’s and create new business leads.
This was followed by an engaging panel discussion with Mia Bannister, National Business Development Manager – WG Architects, David Stewart, Managing Director – Rider Levett Bucknall and Allison Turner, New Business Manager Qld – Buildcorp and moderated by Annabelle Aland, Partner – Allens.
Rob’s four key lessons were:
1. You need to understand what your clients want out of your services – it’s highly likely it is different to what you expect.
2. Accentuate how you can minimise costs – particularly emotion.
3. Business development is part of growing up, no one has skilled you – to do this learn and practice the skills. It’s (really) everyone’s responsibility and it will only benefit your career.
4. Your perceptions affect your behaviours/actions and ultimately your outcomes – change your perceptions to change the result.
Rob’s final message was “I’m here to make my clients more successful!”
The Property Council would like to thank all the speakers and moderator for their contribution to the event.
Special thanks to our event host Allens and support sponsor Multiplex.
