Committed to design for the community to thrive in, FMSA Architecture is an architectural and interior design practice specialising in residential, educational, and institutional typologies. Led by Directors Greg Anson and Riordan Gough, the growing team of 38 staff supports projects throughout Australia from their new offices in Carlton, Victoria.

The opportunity to engage with the industry as an Award and Major Sponsor at the Retirement Living Summit 2022 reflects FMSA’s renewed commitment to the seniors living sector. Approaching fifty years in practice, seniors living was a foundation sector of the business, delivering masterplans and residential aged care projects throughout the east coast of Australia.

Director Riordan Gough explains, “Our contribution to the Summit is part of our renewed focus to provide architectural services to the sector.

“The formation of a specialist seniors living team led by industry leader Patrick Ong in the new role of Principal Seniors Living reflects our commitment. Patrick’s extensive knowledge and industry network fosters opportunities to engage with the sector with a renewed passion.”

These pursuits have established a pipeline of works in multi-storey retirement villages, land lease developments, and residential aged care including the 120-bed Walmsley Aged Care redevelopment for Australian Unity due for completion in August 2022.

Recent easing of international borders allowed Patrick to re-establish linkages with several Southeast Asian operators opening new opportunities for FMSA in the region. Patrick adds, “These opportunities are not only beneficial to FMSA, but the many allied professionals with whom we’ve collaborated over the past decade. One such opportunity is assisting one of Malaysia’s largest developers, IGB Berhad, review their seniors living portfolio in Malaysia.”

Led by values of community, collaboration and commerciality; FMSA Architecture is committed to sustainable built environments that remain relevant to future generations – a commitment aligned with the seniors living industry.
