First Green Star recognised provider namedWood & Grieve Engineers is the first company to be validated for its ability to consistently deliver Green Star points.The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) has announced that it is validating companies with significant technical expertise in the Green Star rating system to ensure “faster, simpler and more consistent” certification.Wood & Grieve has been named a Green Star ‘Recognised Provider’ in energy modelling. The company’s organisational policies and quality assurance procedures have been verified by the GBCA to ensure they meet the required quality criteria. Energy modelling can achieve up to 20 Green Star points.Wood & Grieve’s Perth sustainability section manager, Prasanna Suraweera (pictured), says the new initiative will benefit clients and drive improvements in the Green Star process.”Being a Recognised Provider means Wood & Grieve has quality control processes in place to provide our clients with far greater certainty that they’ll achieve their Green Star points,” Suraweera says.According to the GBCA’s chief executive officer, Romilly Madew, the new scheme “will provide project teams with increased confidence in the outcomes of their Green Star submissions.”
