FD’s Meet the Leaders series

Eighty seven young property professionals were given the opportunity to engage with some of the Queensland property industry’s key leaders through the Future Directions’ ‘Meet the Leaders’ breakfast series.

The annual breakfast series provides the opportunity for the next generation of industry leaders to benefit from the insights and experiences of current leaders. This year our industry leaders were:

Katrina Face, Senior Project Manager – Destination Brisbane Consortium
Katrina outlined the importance of the Queen’s Wharf project to Brisbane’s future, and provided unique insights on what it is like to deliver this exciting development. Katrina encouraged the attendees not to be afraid to relocate for new opportunities further afield, and outlined the experience she has gained from working on a range of interstate projects.

Anthony Ott, Managing Director, Queensland – Savills
Anthony outlined his journey into property from his unlikely career starting point in the hospitality industry. Anthony conveyed the importance of achieving a specialisation throughout your career and how a deep level of expertise in a particular area is an important ingredient to success.

Nikki Fisher, Chief Operating Officer – Ingenia Communities Group
Nikki provided a compelling overview of Ingenia’s operations, outlining how her extensive experience across a range of asset classes has provided a sound footing for her role within the company. Guests were particularly impressed with Nikki’s insights into Ingenia’s Australian-first vertical manufactured home park project.

Laurence Lancini, Managing Director – Lancini Property + Development & QLD President of the Property Council of Australia
Laurence shared insights from his career, which took him from a Townsville bricklayer, to one of Queensland’s most successful property developers, owners and managers. Laurence stressed the importance of perseverance and persistence to achieving career success and how the early sacrifices in his journey set him up to realise future benefits.

Tim Lawless, Research Director – CoreLogic
Tim provided rich insights into the state of the market and how CoreLogic’s data has become the most quoted source of data in the Australian market. Tim outlined his approach to developing his skill set, and how he continues to undertake new presentation training annually to ensure his skills are maintained and improved.

The Property Council would like to thank all the industry leaders for taking the time out of their busy schedules to host these breakfast events and share their insights with the next generation of industry leaders.

This event series would not be possible without the backing of principal sponsor of the Future Directions event series, Savills Project Management, and support sponsors Cedar Woods, for their generous support.
