PAYCE
On 2 October, Property Council hosted a member event with the PAYCE Foundation to showcase their Kick Start Café social enterprise model, which is a sustainable not for profit project focused on youth training and employment.
The social business utilises a fleet of fully equipped, highly attractive mobile food trailers that are stationed at construction sites. Through a proven social partnership model, the business provides workers and local communities a canteen service and local hub.
In a very engaging briefing we heard from a number of speakers including Dominic Sullivan, Director – PAYCE Foundation, Paul Borghetti, Operations Manager – Kick Start CafĂ© and Paniora Nukunuku, a Graduate of Kick Start CafĂ© who spoke about the social benefits and impacts that the project has already made.
Since its inception, Kick Start Café has successfully employed and trained 12 young people who all obtained Certificate III in Hospitality, barista training as well as RSA and RCG certification. Congratulations to PAYCE and Kick Start Café on this fantastic initiative!

Girls In Property Scholarships
Each year, the Property Council proudly partners with Western Sydney University (WSU) – one of our long-standing members – to recognise future leaders in the property industry from the Bachelor or Business and Commerce (Property) degree.
This is the 27th year this scholarship has been awarded and we acknowledge Professor Graeme Newell from Western Sydney University who has been the driving force behind the WSU Property degree and the awards.
This year it was a very tight competition and we couldn’t split the two last candidates, so we awarded two scholarships – both of these young women impressed us with their academic achievements, their extra-curricular leadership and massive potential.
Congratulations to Vienna Norouzi, Assistant Development Manager, The GPT Group and Ebony Fahey, Investment Analyst, Charter Hall.
