The Property Council welcomed members of the local industry to a Gold Coast lunch on 13 October. The lunch provided an opportunity for the industry to hear from leaders in emerging sectors of the Gold Coast economy and learn more about Council”s plans to facilitate this growth.

Tanya Lipus “” Manager City Economy at Gold Coast Council provided an overview of Council”s newly released Economic Growth Strategy and Richard Clarke “” Manager City Planning, delved into Council”s plans to unlock opportunity in specific areas of the Gold Coast including Robina, Yatala and Southport.

Following this Richard joined a panel discussion with Nicholas Linday “” Gilmour Space, Dr Chris Davis “” Griffith University and Steve Dolores “” Economic Development Queensland to explore some of the evolving sectors unique to the Gold Coast and to discuss what opportunities this would provide for the property industry.

The panel discussion was expertly moderated by Lisa Murdoch “” Chair of the Gold Coast committee.

As the final Gold Coast event of the year, the lunch included the announcement of the 2022 Peter Trathen memorial scholarship.  The Scholarship was established to pay tribute to the contribution Peter Trathen made to the property industry and Gold Coast business community.

Congratulations to Kristina Clonan “” the winner of the Peter Trathen Memorial Scholarship 2022.

A special thanks to Rider Levett Bucknall for their ongoing support of the Property Council”s Regional Lunch series.
